I know there’s garlic out back there somewhere. I’m sure of it! Actually, I saw some but, it was so small I felt badly about ending its life.
Problem: There’s a small creek that runs through my property. I wore rubber boots (I like that I need them sometimes – I know – strange). Gerry (my step-dad) wore running shoes. I went garlic picking a few years ago in the back yard and I don’t remember having to jump over the creek. Maybe I just forgot that part. Either way, it was there.
We walked along the creek, trying to find a skinny place. When I finally found one, I stepped on some long grass that looked secure and WHOOSH… up to my right knee. My boot was full. I came out on the other side. No way Gerry was going to cross that without getting wet. So we walked around some more trying to find a skinnier place to cross. Unsuccessful.
We’ll try again Monday. Only, this time, we’re building a little bridge with some scrap wood I have.
I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get my mitten done last night before bed. I’m going to go work on it right now. I get up early every morning to knit/read/blog, depending on what mood I’m in.
One more day until I get to leave for Michelle’s. I always really look forward to going there. I hate the drive but, it’s so worth it when I get there. We’ll have so much fun. I confirmed our visit to Wellington Fibres for Saturday with the owners, Donna and Lorne. I can’t wait to visit their operation. They’re calling for rain on Saturday in Waterloo too. Bummer! Maybe I’ll bring my rubber boots (hihihi).
No matter what the weather, it’ll be great – yarn shopping, tea drinking and lots and lots of knitting and girl-talk.
Have a great weekend. Say Hi to Michelle and the gang for us. And, gosh, I sure hope you don’t need your rubber boots…cause you’re in big trouble if there’s that much water.
