Multi-color

Today was dye day!  What a great time I had.

I went to a new (very charming) place.  I love my house, don’t get me wrong but, I love this one!!!!!!!!!!

I met someone new: Shirley, our instructor.

I may have even made some new friends.

We did THIS!  All of us got our hands dirty and created these wonderful colors from nothing.

I made 6… and they were all earth-y tones.  How boooorrrrrrriiiiiinnnnngggg.  I should have made some make-your-arm-hairs-stand-up bright colors.  I’ll have to get a few little pots and play at home.

I tell you! every time I get together with these ladies, I learn something new.  I LOVE IT!  Plus, all these new places I’m visiting are inspiring, picturesque.

I also feel like I should get chickens.  I have the room for it.  BUT, who would feed them when I’m not home for days/weeks at a time?

Out in the open.

Back at work for a few days.  I’m working nights tonight but I managed to go spinning today and had a wonderful time, as always.

For the rest of the summer, our meetings will be taking place at the Pioneer Museum in Dunvegan.  Really a very charming place.  We spun outside, in the fresh, open air.  I love that.  Makes me feel close to nature (no laughing…)

See for yourself:

It’s the dye workshop on Tuesday.  I’m really looking forward to that!!!

I’ve had to rip back my Hobo Bag because, when I took it off the needles to undo a few rows, it was enormous!!!  I’ve since cast on again and plan to increase to half the stitches.

I’ve also started a pair of socks with some calf shaping.  I find that the plain socks I make always fit just right around the calves but are all loosey-goosey around the ankle.  Figured I could try to fix that.  I’ll try to remember to write down my pattern this time.

Off to bed for a little snooze before work.

A week in pictures…

Michelle’s:

I made new friends… almost brought one home.  ALMOST!!!

Not one of these though…

I love him.  I think I called him Clarence.  He was the smallest and my favorite.

Cloe (8 years old) made the big birdie.  It’s needle felted.

Imagine… taco shells made of cheese!!!!!!!

It was probably the best taco I’ve had in years!!!  With some steak and guacamole.  Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

Work Monday and Tuesday…

Spinning on Wednesday.  We sat outside and I admired Mary’s plants & garden.

At knitting on Wednesday night, we had so many of these:

Beanies for Preemies!

We had about 50 more but the pictures are too big for me to upload.  What a bummer.  Maybe I’ll figure out a way to shrink them so that I can show everyone what my girls did for the preemies at CHEO!

And finally, I’ve finished my March Rockin’ Sock Club socks.

And I started this Hobo Bag:

I ran out of my first color.  I found some Briggs & Little, doubled it up and kept going.  I’m still going to run out so I’ll use another color way of the original and keep going for the top and the straps.  It might be ugly.  OR, it might be really cool & one of a kind.

Going to Kingston tomorrow.  Scott’s getting a big award there on Wednesday.  Woohoo.  He’s pretty happy about that.

Mr. Noodles

I’ve had a wonderful 10 days.  I visited my friend Michelle, her family and all their animals in Waterloo, spent some time at home, finished up some projects, spun with my new friends, knit with my old friends and worked a lot.

It’s 9:09 on a Saturday night and I just got home from work.  I’m having a Mr. Noodles for dinner because, frankly, I don’t have the energy to make anything else.

I have tones of pictures to download/upload and I can’t wait to have time to do that.  BUT, for tonight it’s just me, my Mr. Noodles and episode 4 of season 2 of Knitting Daily.  And when that’s done, I’m going to bed.
