A quick one one my way out the door…

I have so many things to do today.  That’s what I get for doing what I wanted yesterday.  Hihi.

A couple of weeks ago, it was my birthday.  This is my birthday dinner at my mother’s.

I finished my bag.  It needs a few adjustments but it was photograph-able.

Pattern by my friend Cass.  Not yet published (I don’t think at least… nope).

A two-year old played with my iPhone.  You should have seen her.  A real pro!

On October 9th, we went to see Cirque du Soleil, Michael Jackson.  It was really cool.  It was also Jacob’s 17th birthday that day.  We had cake at the restaurant.

I worked a lot of nights.  Made me silly.

The leaves in the yard changed.  Beautiful.

Then they started to fall.

I finished and blocked my Brandywine Shawl.

I love this shawl!  I’m going to wear it today.

I put up this cool mirror in my bathroom.

I wore my boots around the house all day.  I’m desperately trying to break them in.

I roasted pumpkin seeds.  One batch of just salt, one batch of pickle panic (dill and salt & vinegar) , and one batch of curry.  They’re all awesome.  I was shocked at how well they turned out.

I dusted off my spinning wheel.

Watched half a season of Knitting Daily TV.

Finished the whole bat.

This morning, I put a ham in the crock pot.  My maple syrup was all crystallized so I used molasses.   I thought the swirls in the water looked really interesting.  Had to get a picture.

Now I’m off to town to get black silk threat to ply my blue with.  Should be interesting.  I’m also going to pick up ingredients to make some gazpacho and a Paleo cream of broccoli soup.  then I’m going to head to my friend Bonnie’s to pick up my “prezzie” as she calls it – she got souvenir roving from her trip to Rhinebeck.  I love you Bonnie!

So, I might actually have funny food pics tomorrow… maybe.  I work tomorrow.

A little fun and some more ink.

I guess I should start with last weekend.

Tina and I went to Montreal.

We had some drinks.

My new favorite t-shirt.

We found a field of giant car-fresheners!

I love red.

We acted silly, a lot!

Then we found this statue of Marguerite Bourgeois and had a little fun.  Can you believe the security guard stayed sitting on the bench and never once said a thing to us?

Hit Chinatown for dinner.

Then we went out dancing.

Friday (the 30th) was my 35th birthday.  I can’t believe it.  I’m simply not old enough to be 35!  In my mind and in my soul, I can’t be more than 25.

My birthdays have been anti-climactic for years.  This year, I decided I was going to do something memorable.  So, my friend Tina and I got tattoos.  We’ve been going together for our tattoos for some time now.  It has sort of become tradition.

Not blood. Ink.
Not as painful as it looks.
Can you tell I'm excited?
I just like this picture. Hard at work.
The finished art.
Tina's tattoo.

And someone thought of me when he saw these…

The best birthday present ever!

I’ve had 5 days off in a row so I’ve been enjoying a lot of sleep and relaxing.

I started watching Dexter a few weeks ago and I’m really really addicted.  I have a hard time going to bed at night!

I’ve also been knitting, as usual.

Finally blocked blanket for Behold (say that three times really fast).
Hat for Callah.
Hat for Gabrielle.
Mittens for Callah.
Pod and hat for France's friend Kathrine.
Socks for me (Merino, silk and cashmere - yum).
I called it Super Mario scarf.
