A little something for MOI!

I got a tattoo today.  I’ve been wanting it for a while now.  I finally just took the plunge.

I love it.  It’s “Life is Beautiful” in French… which made my father very happy.

It hurt more than the others.  Mind you, my tattooer Loni said that the ribs are really painful.  Maybe I’m not a wimp after all.  Loni also said that I had “tough” skin because I didn’t bleed.  Strange.  It’s official:  I’m a freak.

On top of my new Ink, I ordered myself a couple of pretty things:

Pesto Change-o Top

Multi-talented Miss Dress

They should come in the mail on Monday.  I hope they fit!!!  Now I have to find shoes to match this dress. (I wish I could just walk around barefoot!)

Dare we hope?

It feels like spring.  It smells like spring.  And the sogginess of my lawn would mean it looks like spring.

Dare I be hopeful?

It’s amazing what the time change last weekend has done for my spirits.  Just getting daylight until 7:00 pm has been amazing.

Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that SPRING is really here.

Our trip to Columbia was very nice.  I wanted to try something different this year – more relaxing.  I was so exhausted from all the night shifts for the entire month of February that I felt I really needed a lot of mellowness.  So, I only booked two excursions – both only half-day.  The first was to visit the old Cartagena and the second was to have a mud bath in the mouth of a volcano.  Both very fun half-day-trips.  Then Jacob and I each read two books and were bored stiff by Saturday.

I have to admit that I did barely any knitting on this trip.  I got caught up in my books the first couple of days and then I just wasn’t motivated to knit.

Now I’m home and I want to knit everything!  As well as my brain can function right now after 4 hours of sleep, I don’t have anything to knit for anyone else anymore.  As soon as I finish re-knitting little Zaden’s socks, I’m done knitting for other people.  I’m giddy.  I also have that deer-in-the-headlights feeling.  What will I do?  OMG!  There are just so many possibilities!!!

My friend Cass just made a blanket of granny squares with all her leftover yarns.  I also have a few mitered squares made of sock wool that I could continue.  I want a blanket of only sock yarn mitered squares.  I think it might take me forever but… it’ll be gorgeous when it’s finished.

Well, today’s a spin day.  I only slept 4 hours so I could go.  So, I should get a move-on.

Oh, I have an appointment for a new tattoo tomorrow.  I’m really excited!

Here are a few pics of the trip:

Only diamonds are forever…

Some things change and some stay the same.  The fact that I can always depend on my friends and family makes me feel like the luckiest chick in the world.  My heart is full.  (Sorry, that was really cheesy!!  But I don’t care!!)

So, I booked a trip to Columbia for Jacob and I.  I just booked it a few days ago and we leave on Monday…. after a weekend of night shift.  I’m actually leaving early on Sunday’s overnight to head to the airport.  That’s right!  I’m leaving right from work.  I threw everything in my suitcase in about 15 minutes yesterday.  I love packing and I’m getting quite good at it.  😉

This past week, I’ve been spinning my little heart out!  I love it.

Check this out:

Isn’t it just the most beautiful thing?  I’m totally in love with this yarn.

Since my last post, I’ve finished Jody’s socks.  I haven’t taken a picture of them though.  I asked Jody to send me a picture of her and Carly wearing their matching socks.  Hope she remembers.

I’ve also spun and knit two more squares for the charity blanket.  I did a mitered square that turned out just beautiful.  Then I gave it to Lucie at knitting before I had taken a picture of it.  Doh!  The third square is just a k3 rows, p3 rows in stripes.  It’s cute, but plain.

What else…. I’ve been watching a lot of Glee.  I love that show.  I also love the music.  I had to download some and burned a few CD’s for the car.  I’m a total Gleek!!!  Haha.

The guy from work that I made socks for him and his son gave me back the son’s socks.  They were too small.  Now I wish I had written down the damn pattern because I have no idea how big (or rather, how small) I made them.  I’ve already undone them now so… sh**-balls!

Well, that’s it for me for now.  Probably won’t have time to post pre-vacation.  So, I’ll see you all on the 15th maybe?
