It all worked out. I was very please with myself when I put the buttons on the larger peice and they were perfect. Even the color of the thread I bought was perfect. Aahhhh.
Then I held it up to examin my handy work and realized it was waaayyyy too big for Patrick. I suspect that even the gown weighs more than he does. It’s not difficult when you way the same as a bag of milk. I carried him around for a long time last night and he’s so small (and beautiful). It’s funny how easy it is to fall in love with something so small.
Either way, it’s finished. It’s beautiful and I don’t have to look at it anymore.
I have a love-hate relationship with that ensemble. It’s the most beautiful thing I have ever made – therefore I love it. On the flip side, it was so long and I boar easily apparently – Therefore I hate it!
It’s cute ha?
Well, I’ve been so excited to be finished that I’ve already made a whole pair of Bella’s Mittens. They’re wonderful. I loved making them. Compared to the charts and the poorly written christening gown pattern, this one was a breeze. I’ll be going to Wal-Mart this morning before work to get a pair of 5.5 mm needles to see if they’ll be a tad bigger. Oddly enough, out of the million dpn’s I own, I don’t own a pair of 5.5 mms. So, that’s it for me today. I have to be at work in an hour and a half and I haven’t showered. I’m quick but, not that quick!
Mylene,
What an awesome outfit. This is a garmet worthy of passing down from generation to generation. Great job Mylene. Now what will you surprise yourself with in your next accomplishment?
Mylene,
All the pieces are beautiful! Your talent amazes me!
It would have been great to see the different stages of each piece. I can only imagine how long it took you to make everything.
Mylene,
That gown is just amazing – I’m sure your friends will treasure and take good care of it forever.
This is just such a beautiful piece to pass down from one generation to another. You should write or print the story on this gown, the year and your name so that they can keep with it. You do such beautiful work. I’m jealous!
Hey France!
You were right about me having a little turd machine before you, but; feel free to stop by and change a diaper…or two…or three…or four…or five…etc!!!!!
MAN….can this kid poop 🙁
Hey Mylene:
What a great looking outfit. It is beautiful. All your hard work shows in the finished piece. I am so glad that I was able to see the work in process and the picture of the finished piece. Glad to see that it is a done project now.
I’m so sad that I never got to see the FINAL FINAL product… it looks amazing and so precious with the little blue ribbon! Great work… hopefully you’ll be making another one in a few years ; )
Mimi….
Words can’t express our gratitude…the gown is absolutely beautiful!
Don’t worry about it being a bit big…we’re gonna pump as much boob into the little poop machine from now until the Christening 🙂
Love ya lots;
John & Rachelle
