If you’ve read or seen Eat Pray Love, you’ll know what today’s title means.  If you don’t, then let me explain:

In the book, Liz meets this old medicine man in Bali.  He tells her to meditate by sitting still and smiling – even in her liver.

How does this relate to me?  Simply put, I’m happy – so much so that I’m smiling in my liver.

If you’re wondering if I’m off my meds, don’t worry.  (I’m not actually on any meds.) I feel content.  Truly content. Does that make sense?  I have this sense of freedom that I’ve never experienced before.  Aside from the fact that I’m frustrated that I can’t travel right now due to finances, life is GOOD.  It’s amazing what happens when you open yourself up to things and to people – when you take the time to look around and enjoy all that surround you – your family, friends (old and new), the wind or the smell of rain, the sound of crickets or the silence, driving with the windows down, time to read a book, etc.

Alright, enough of all that funny stuff.  I’ve got a few photos of the things I’ve been working on.

Last week, I got a new accessory for the house.  Thanks Mom and Gerry.

I spent the weekend at a co-worker/friend’s parents’ cottage near Perth, Ontario.  Absolute Blast!

Tonight I work.  Have I mentioned that I love my job?

I went on a ride-along with Officer Dave.  We had such a great time.  Dave’s quite a handful but he’s great, easy to get along with… and funny as hell.  We went to a few serious calls but then we got to go for a ride in the bush. (Officer Kevin got stuck but Dave didn’t.  He’s pretty proud of that.)  I giggled like a little girl the whole time.  The cruiser was so dirty that she got a little wash back at HQ.  We thought this was so funny that we took pictures.

All of the above things have lead to me… smiling in my liver.

(I’m a dork… I know.)

Smiling in my liver.
