I just came off my block if night shifts. It was so slow that it made me super-grateful I have my knitting to keep me awake. Now I’m off all weekend. Yahoo!
I love this new hat! I made it for Steve but… I think it looks good on me. 🙂
I also ordered this yarn to make my GF Tina something (wish I could remember what it was she wanted). I love the colors. I hope she changes her mind and I get to keep it and make something for myself. (Is that wrong?)
I’m so looking forward to this weekend. I’m hanging out with Jacob this afternoon but the minute he leaves, I’m popping in a chick movie and spinning my heart away. I’m almost finished spinning my Shetland (the one that was floating in the basement when I had the flood in 2010). It’s going to be a plain bulky sweater. I can’t wait to start working on that. It will be my first hand-spun & hand-knit sweater. I’m excited!
Once I’m done spinning above-wool, it’ll get a nice bath (try to get the rest of the hay out) and while it’s drying, I’ll be making some felted slippers… Now that I know where all my felting wool is in the yarn closet. Hihi.
Tomorrow, I might clean something… But I’m easily distracted.
Sunday, I’m heading to Louise’s place to make peppermint soap. My coworkers think it’s funny how excited I am about that. But my face does not lie. I feel like a kid going to the zoo. No point hiding it.
It’s been a really awesome week.
I got a bit of not-great news: the money I had saved up to head down to Chicago for my new tattoo is now going to paying my income tax instead. I was expecting this from the sale of the rental last year, but I had all my extremities crossed it wouldn’t suck up the WHOLE tattoo fund. Oh well. C’est la vie. I chose to be positive about it and be grateful that I have the money to pay Revenue Canada. I will save the money again. No big deal.
Hope you all have an awesome weekend filled with things that make your heart smile.
Hey Mimi: Love the hat.
What I see in the basket looks nothing like what I had found floating in the garage. My panic has subsided!!! I can’t wait to see what you make with it.
Enjoy your weekend.
