As if it’s mid-September already! I can’t believe it. I guess it snuck up on me this year because Jacob’s done school. One day two weeks ago (maybe three even), I was driving down Alta Vista in Ottawa and there were kids and school buses. That’s when I realized that summer was pretty much done. BUMMER!!!
Now I find myself trying to remember what I’ve done in the past month… Aside from work a lot of night shifts.
I tried kayaking for the first time with my friend Ben. It was awesome – so much better than canoeing! I’m gonna get rid of the canoe and save my pennies for a kayak. Went shopping already.
I’ve been spending a lot of time at the gun range. This week, they taught me how to run with a gun. This is something I need to know of I’m going to compete in IPSC. Turns out that I shoot a lot better with just my right hand. As if! Hahah.
This week, I actually had a whole day set aside for spinning with my guild friends. I hadn’t seen them all summer. We sat on Bonnie’s beautiful new deck for hours. Great, great, great. Then I got to go to knitting for the whole three hours. That hasn’t happened in a while either.
When I got home, I found these on my stairs with no note. Thank you mystery tomato-gifter.
This weekend, I stayed home and did some house things. But that’s boring so I moved on to 6 episodes of True Blood and two finishes sweaters!! Yahoo!!
Destination of this pattern: recycling bin!!
The last time I worked on my Tilted Duster was in May of 2011. It’s a beautiful sweater but I absolutely hated knitting it!!! I will never make it again… Unless someone offers me a million dollars, which is extremely unlikely.
Back at work today. After this week of 5 night shifts, things appear to be slowing down.
GREAT NEWS: I got on full-time. I’m so excited. This will mean steady hours, a predictable schedule and benefits. Massages, here I come!!!
I’m sad that the Tilted Duster isn’t a fun knit! The geometric lines on the front really are beautiful. It looks like such a cool sweater.
Wow I would love that cardigan, where did you get the pattern.
Thanks
Wow! No wonder I didn’t see you very much! It all sounds like so much fun.
Oh yes, the perks of a full-time job…the benefits. I hope you have many massages in your future!
Congratulations on all the future massages! Glenda can recommend a superb massage therapist if you need one. It was so great spinning with you this week. Hope it’ll happen much more often now.
Huge hugs.Bonnie
