De-Clutter Day 2

I woke up this Wednesday morning with a very stiff body. Maybe lugging 30 L bags of dirt up the stairs two at a time was not a great idea.

But, we got ‘er done! All my plants are in brand new dirt.

I thought it was only going to take a few hours. It took all day! Damn. I was hoping to be done in the early afternoon so I could get a bunch of other things done around the house.

Turns out that I managed to at least get all the wool out of the spare room. This is the pile.

Imagine that half of that is spinning fiber and the other half is either handspun wool or commercial wool. I contained the spinning fiber into these awesome storage containers my sister gave me. They fit awesome under the bed in the spare room.

But now, I’m left with all this spun yarn that will need a home.

My yarn closet is overflowing as it is!!! This is at least two more Rubbermaid containers! Maybe I should have a wool sale? Or maybe I should STOP BUYING WOOL!!!

Today, I’m working on the kitchen and living room.

Tonight is dinner with some of the girls from knitting and then it’s knitting circle. Yahoo!

Now for a little bit of yoga to stretch out these sore muscles.

De-Clutter Day 1

Today is Tuesday. I feel like I was hit by a truck. My entire body hurts.

Note to self: Ask strong boys to move large TVs.

It took me over 7 actual hours but I can now safely say that I have de-cluttered my bedroom.

*Uhm, I have to confess though, that this does NOT include the yarn closet. (Insert funny face here.)

I did find a lot of things that made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

My first driver’s licence.

The smallest cami in the entire world.  I can’t believe Jacob used to fit in this.  (I have pretty small hands.)

An imprint of Jacob’s little foot.  how cute.  I had used good ol’ homemade play-dough for this. That’s why it’s kind of… not perfect.

This reads “Mylene’s tooth/1st.  Saturday, February 13th ’82.”  How cute is that.  There’s more than one tooth in there.  My parents kept all the teeth I lost in this old film capsule.  It went into my jewelry box.

I just love this pictures.  That’s my grandpa, asleep on his lazy boy.  That’s my little sister and Jacob having a good laugh at him.

I also found these items that were knit by yours truly a million years ago. What was I thinking??

This is the condition of my living room prior to the trip into town to unload.

Imagine that most of that stuff came from my closet!! With the exception of the giant TV.

Today will be less intense in the morning. I’m taking care of all my plants. My step-mother (who has a way greener thumb than me) is coming to help me change the dirt in all my plant pots. I don’t think I’ve ever changed the dirt in my plants. I’ve had some of them for a hundred years!

When the plants are all tucked away in their new dirt, I’m going to start on the spare bedroom. That’s the doozie! I’ll pose before and after pics later in the week. I’m kind of excited about it.

On the craft side of things, here’s a few pics of the things I finished up last week.
