First of all, Jacob’s home so I feel better now. Nothing nasty happened to him. He had a wonderful time and didn’t take enough pictures for me to really get a good grasp of what they did. When Jacob landed, my sister picked him up. They spent a few days in Las Vegas because it was raining/snowing in the mountains. Poor kid! He got to spend 3 days in Vegas… Then they climbed and had a blast I’m sure.
It’s great to have him home – he definitely provides entertainment.
Now, let me revisit my 2010 list of things I wanted to do.
- knit more (that’s definitely the first thing)
- work on my knitting accreditation
- learn to spin
- learn to weave
- perhaps work on my photography course (I started it years ago and didn’t finish because I didn’t have time to do the assignments)
- teach some knitting classes
- spend time at home (which I hadn’t done much since I bought it)
- go cross-country skiing
- go snow-shoeing
- go shopping out of town in the middle of the week
- buy a really nice new pair of jeans
- paint my upstairs bathroom
- write knitting articles
- write knitting patterns
- Go to Le Nordic with my sister on a weekday
- SPEND MORE TIME WITH THE PEOPLE I LOVE!
7/16 – I guess that’s better than nothing. Some of my goals were big and required commitment.
In my defense:
- I didn’t learn to weave because I wanted to work on the spinning part first. Maybe in 2011.
- I may not have taught knitting classes but I taught two girls I work with to knit. One started with socks and the other with the Wurm hat.
- My sister and I planned a trip to Le Nordic about 3 times but something always came up.
- I started planning my next knitting article but never put it on paper.
- I don’t own cross-country skis.
- I would have gone snow-shoeing (’cause I own two pair) but I’m afraid of the coyotes that live in the woods behind my house.
I have no excuses:
- I didn’t paint my bathroom because I want to change all the tiles and I don’t want to spend the money. I could have still painted.
- I got lazy where the knitting accreditation was concerned. I had a lot of knitting to do.
- I lost interest in the photography thing. I still love taking pictures but would rather go out and take them than study about how to take them.
2011 is going to be a great year! Why? I have no idea. I just feel good about it.
When I picked up Jacob at the airport last night, he asked me what my New Year’s resolution was. I was and still am totally stumped. I have no idea! Do I have to decide now?
I need to think.
I knit a lot but have no pics. I’ll take some – of my knitted things and of my new wheel. Stay tuned…
