Yesterday, the ladies of spinning were in my living room.
How can you tell spinners are around? You find these everywhere:
I thought my living room was pretty roomie… until yesterday.
Let me tell you… stick enough spinning wheels in one room and it gets really small.
It was a great time. I’m learning so much.
I think I need my own wheel now… Better save my pennies. If I ask for money for my birthday and Christmas, I should be able to get my own wheel in a few years. Haha.
Maybe I should sell some wool? I’ve got such a big stash (I’m sure it’s worth thousands of dollars).
I also got these in the mail yesterday:
The mauve (actual name of color is “Sangria” – yummy) is for my Minimalist Cardigan and the other stuff is… you guessed it… more sock wool. Ha. Check out the colors! Aren’t they fantastic?
I can’t wait to knit these up.
Wait… get in line!!!! I can’t start any new projects. I’ve got too many things on the go already (4 to be exact – two socks and two tops).
I finished Emilie’s socks. They’re soaking in the sink with some wool wash. The red was so rich that I knew the color would run a little. I wanted to try to get some of that out before I gave them to her. AND, there were a few peccadilloes in the toe-up socks that I didn’t really like and am hoping that I can block them out on a sock form.
I’ve finished the back of my Drops 103 jacket. It’s funny how because it knits up so fast, I keep knitting too far and missing some of the necessary steps. I knit in the van on the way to Trombino’s last night and left the pattern at Scott’s place. I knew something was off but I kept going anyway. When I checked the pattern this morning, not only did I miss the shaping but I totally omitted the double moss on the panel in the front. DUH! I had to rip back about 30 rows. No biggie. I did the same thing for the back part. I was knitting away (stocking stitch) while reading And Then There Were None. I went too far and had to rip back to where I had omitted the underarm shaping.
I need eight hands to work on the projects I have going right now. They pretty much just all have to take turns.
Well, I’m off to visit my friend Tina today.
Fantastic!
