I got my tattoo on Friday. Loni did a great job. I’m getting mixed reactions from people when they see it. All the people that know me the best think it’s awesome because I love to travel so much. “It’s totally YOU!” said Tina when it was all said and done.
It’s a little scabby right now. Actually, it’s a lot scabby. It almost doesn’t look like a real tattoo. It looks like a henna tattoo and someone left the paste on! Haha.
In case you can’t tell, it’s about 2 inches above my wrist on the inside of my arm.
Saturday, yesterday, was an odd day. I spent a lot of time driving. I actually ended up in front of a house I used to live in a long long time ago.
Yah… I was trying to drive and take pictures with my phone at the same time – hoping they wouldn’t call the police ’cause there was some weird chick taking pictures of their house!
This house is in a very small village sort of in the middle of nowhere. BUT, don’t you think this place would make a wonderful yarn shop?
I can appreciate that it might be difficult to grasp the potential from this picture alone. There’s a stop sing, a car and my parking pass sort of hindering the view. I remember loving this building as a kid. For some reason, in my little kid brain, they used to sell really cool stuff there – maybe antiques or strange/interesting junk?
The reason I was driving all over the place yesterday? Jacob’s prom-party. Well, not his, his school’s. He’s not old enough yet. Either way, it was far… and very very muddy. I think I should also mention the number of mosquitoes! There were a million-trillion-bazillion!!! That’s a lot! I don’t think you could pay me a million dollars (ok maybe a million – but nothing less!) to sleep in a tent in this weather with that many mosquitoes.
Later in the day, I got an unexpected phone call that really made me think. Without going into detail, it make me realize that I don’t think people really change. Funny how I’m only realizing that now. No matter how much time goes by. Some people never grow up! Ha. I don’t know why I feel so surprised to discover this now… a little late in life.
Jacob called me nice and early to pick him up. So, I went to get him and we came home and watched “It’s Kind of a Funny Story”. Very cute movie. I spun some Cormo while we watched.
Today, I’m also doing this:
Tomato and dill soup. Yum. Might look gross now but I’ll whiz it later and it will look better.
I’m also doing some of this:
Making poopy wool into pretty wool. I have two whole fleece. This is going to take me forever! Makes me wish I still had my top-load washer. I could just put wool in there to soak instead of in my kitchen sink! I could do it in the bath but it’s gets all tangles up because there’s too much wool. It got messy when I did my Shetland in there.
Tomorrow is Monday. Back to the ol’ routine. I suspect it will rain. It feels like it’s been raining here forever. The sun seems to be attempting an appearance but the clouds won’t let it.
My soup smells wonderful.
I’m going to attempt some sesame crackers now.
PS: blogging is never quick if you insert photos. Is it just me and my slow-ass internet?
Ooooh! Pictures of the old house. So nice to see. I can’t believe you remember that little store.
Soup looks yummy…poopy wool, NOT so yummy. But I can’t wait to see what you do with it.
