For a while there, I had three pairs of socks on the go. I finally finished Emilie’s birthday socks and delivered them to her, blocked and smelling like lavender, on the day of her birthday. I think they were a hit.
Like I said before, I’m not crazy about the toe-ups. And the heel construction? Just strange. They still turned out very nicely.
Whether she wears them or not, I’ll probably never know.
In the meantime, I keep finding more things to knit.
My mother and I are going to Ottawa for an appointment today. She’s picking me up early so we can go to this new place one of the spinning ladies told me about. It’s called Knit-Knackers Yarn Warehouse. A WAREHOUSE. Sounds like it’s really big – which in turn means that it’s dangerous. They have fiber there that I want to look at. They also have spinning wheels. That’s mostly why I want to go. I am determined to use up my stash yarn but… that doesn’t seem to be working. In the last month, I’ve ordered three skeins of sock wool and 10 balls of Alpaca/Silk/Merino for a cardi. Not GOOD!
I’ll report tomorrow…
I am really proud of your restraint at the warehouse. It’s rare that I spend more than you did. I can’t wait to see the yarn you will spin from the fiber you bought. I really enjoyed my day! Thanks.
