Ok. Every time I post, I complain about how much time I DON’T have. I can’t believe it’s been over two months since my last post! I have no excuses.
I’m trying to think of all the things that would have happened in my life – or rather the exciting things that are worth mentioning… But two months is a long time.
I’ve knitted and crocheted SO many little things for little people. I’m getting pretty good at crochet. I never thought.
I have a few other projects done but no photos yet. Next post.
Jacob and his band played a show at Club Saw in Ottawa. That was pretty awesome. I’m very proud of him.
I shot my first match in Eganville and came in dead last. BUT, I did it safe and officially passed my black badge course. I shot another match in Ottawa a few weeks ago and I’m pretty sure I came in last again. But I had a really good time – that’s all that matters right? I really love shooting. It’s empowering. I just want to shoot because I enjoy it and not because I want to be better than other people. Getting better is only a personal challenge.
The day after my first match, Jacob and I left for New York City again for his 18th birthday. I can’t believe he’s 18!!! We had a blast and did a bunch of things I had never done before. His actual birthday surprise was a helicopter ride over Manhattan – which required a little jaunt over to the Jersey side. What an experience! We were all over the place. We managed a long walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and a visit to Prospect Park.
I have way more photos on
The weekend after NYC, I headed up to Waterloo so that Michelle and I could hit the fleece show in Woodstock on Saturday the 13th. It was interesting and I ended up buying roving I really didn’t need.
On November 5th, I officially started my full-time gig. It’s pretty awesome. I’m taking a pay cut but, coming in and working with the same people all the time… feels like home. It’s a wonderful feeling.
All in all, life is really good. It’s pretty fast-paced and I sometimes wish it would slow down but I’m having fun.
I feel compelled to mention that my friend Steve went away for a weekend and came back with wool for me. It was the best surprise ever.
Glad to hear you’re having a blast doing all kinds of neat things!
