I just read that in NYC this weekend, the “NYC Yarn Crawl” is going on. I really wish I had known that before!!!
They have 14 yarn stores participating in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I can’t believe I was there last weekend. The yarn shop I walked by twice on Madison is in it.
I think the worse part of all this is that I was in the City and never even thought to go check out the new Lion Brand Store on 15th Street! I probably almost walked by it. I’m a bad knitter!!! Please forgive me.
There’s another store (The Brooklyn General Store). I read an article about them in either Vogue Knitting or Interweave Knits. It’s about two girls who started selling really small ’cause they loved the craft. Eventually they got bigger and then the started their very own yarn shop out of an old General Store. How cool is that!!!! I actually wrote to them to tell them how inspiring their story was after I read the article. (Maybe someday that will be me.)
I finished the second sleeve on my Cobblestone and attached both sleeves to the body last night. It’s coming along nicely. Should be finished by the end of next weekend.
In the meantime, I haven’t blocked my February Lady yet. I really should because I can’t wait to wear it.
I finally managed to get my grass cut yesterday. It had been some four weeks since the last time I cut it! Where does the time go?
It’s a nice fall day today. I’m picking up my Little Sister today. I was going to take her apple picking but, the public picking is over for the season. I just checked the movie schedule and there are lots of movies that I want to see but, not necessarily any that are appropriate for a 12-year-old. What to do???
I’m going to try to get a few rows in on my sweater before I have to hit the shower.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you too.
I checked out your NYC pictures more closely and they are really great. I get that you’re thinking “Why didn’t I check out the “Yarn Crawl” dates before I booked my trip”. On the other hand, I think this would me more of a trip for you and I… France would have probably wanted to climb the walls, litterally!
