I suppose it’s an odd thing to be working on when it’s 40 degrees Celsius outside. The tuque! It actually started a few months ago, but it seems to be a trend.
Another baby prop. How cute is this thing?
The little hat was followed by the blanket. I love this blanket. A lot of my friends and co-workers do as well. It’s made of the Pattens Alpaca Natural Blends in lavendar. It was heavy and beautiful and oh so simple to make.
In there, I managed to hit an antique shop. Do I EVER love antique shops!! I drive by this shop at least once a week. Last week, on my way from breakfast at the Elgin Street Diner (where they now know me by name), I stopped and had a peek inside. I could esily spend an obscene amount of money there.
I think I left some awesome stuff out of my last post.
My son graduated high school!!!! Oh my goodness!!! I can’t believe he’s all done. A whole giant chapter of his life is now complete. He’s offically a big boy. I’m having a hard time wrapping my brain around it all.
My sister France and I did a charity “Amazing Race” to raise money for Hospice Cornwall in memory of France’s coworker Tom who died of cancer at the Hospice a few years ago. What a hoot! We had so much fun. And what a great cause.
I made a tuque for my friend Brian. Easy ribbed hat.
My friend Rachelle and I took the canoe out for a spin for the first time. What a great workout. After all threat work though, we hit the Blue Anchor for some drinks.
We totally missed the fireworks I so wanted to see in Ottawa on Canada Day. What a bummer. But we had Beaver Tails to console us!
Spent Monday frolicking around Ottawa. I’ve been to Ottawa a million times and I never really noticed this fountain. Beautiful isn’t it?
On Tuesday morning, I got some great news. I guess I shouldn’t really get excited until the deal is complete but, all conditions have been waived and the closing is set for Friday the 13th. Yikes! This means a lot of good things. By that, I mean mostly that it will free up some money for TRAVELING!!!
I hosted a few kids from Los Angeles. They’re biking from Kingston to NYC. Couch Surfing ROCKS! They are Dave and Kyle. A few weeks ago, I hosted a guy from Petawawa who was in town for a wedding. I’m still in touch with him. In August, I’m hosting a couple from Toronto who are also doing a bike tour, as well as 4 music librarians from Europe who will be in Montreal for a converence.
I also started taking an online class through Craftsy on lace design. It’s very interesting – even inspiring. But, have I mentioned that I hate math!
Today, I started another tuque.
My Tilted Duster still haunts me!!!
So, there you have it. In a nutshell.
Wow C! Thanks for that comment! It put a giant smile on my face.
That scavenger hunt was a great time. Met lots of new people and it was for a great cause.
Ok, I realize it’s like a gazillion years later, but I just found out you had a blog (which is awesome by the way!) AND that my face was somewhere on it! Ha!
It brings back great memories from the scavenger race and I really hope we’ll have the occasion to meet again. Your blog exudes sunshine and just confirm how much your sister and you are the most positive and happy people I’ve had the chance to meet in my life.
Shine on! 🙂
