I can’t believe I haven’t written since November 16th.  I lose track…

I’m a little scattered these days.

It’s been snowing for the last two days.  Although I love the white in the yard, I hate that snow is such a pain in the arse.  I ran into the store last night for only a few minutes and had to clean the snow off the car again.  Thank goodness I live in the country.  I think that living out here has made me hate snow less.  It’s so beautiful and pristine out here.  It doesn’t get all dirty and slushy from the cars and just plain city stuff.  So, at least there’s that.

I’ve been busy with Christmas knitting… sort of.  Only this year, none of it is really for me.  I’m even having a hard time remember what I’ve made over the last little while.

Oh yes, Michel’s hat.

This is the hand-spun hat from my last post – only it wasn’t done the last time.  I think he liked it.  I got a bit hug and a kiss right in my ear (ouch).

There are Troy’s socks.  I made his son’s socks and posted pics in November.

I made a 2 hats for our spinning guild Christmas party’s hat exchange.  I originally had this idea in my head.  It started with a cabled band.

When I picked up to knit the top of the head, it was a complete mess.  So, this is what I decided it would stay.

I found a pattern and made actual hats instead.  I gave one away at the party because the first one I made I tried to dye with cool-aid.  I wasn’t fond of the original yellow.  It didn’t turn out so good though.

I think I made a mistake in the alignment of the dyed one.  It just doesn’t look right.  Plus, my camera was acting up… ok, maybe it was me that hit a button and it made the focus really wacky.  I think I fixed it – the camera.

This is the hat I picked at the party.

Made by my friend Diane Moody.  It’s all hand-spun and hand knit.  Gorgeous ha?  Made me feel like shit about my hat!  Haha.

Then I started a puppet for a lady my sister works with.  It’s for the lady’s grand-daughter for Christmas.  I’m not fond of making puppets.  BUT, it’s for a good cause.  She wants it to look like a princess.  I hope it worked.  I have no pictures of it yet.  She still needs hair and a face.

In there somewhere, I spun alpaca – successfully!!!

I was so very excited that it all worked out.  I’m thinking I’ll turn these two skeins into beautiful 100% alpaca mittens.  I get shivers just thinking about it.

Now I’m working on a hat and scarf for my brother-in-law.  Pictures will follow once complete.

Good news… Jacob’s living with me full-time now.  I love having him with me.  He drives me crazy sometimes but, in a good way.  We have a lot of laughs together.

He’s entered this new phase where he’s really into rapping.  You know, like singing/rapping and stuff?  He writes, downloads beats and then records his stuff.  Then he makes me listen to them.  I thought it was cute at first but… I think it’s driving me a little bit insane.

For Christmas, Jacob wants to build a climbing wall in my garage.  So, I got him all these holds.

What else…

My friend Michelle came for a visit… alone for the first time EVER.  She’s never left her kids for an overnight before.  I’m sure it was a tough for all parties involved but I think she had a good time.  I know I did.

I took her to my father’s Christmas concert.  He’s the conductor.

I go to his Christmas concert every year thinking that I won’t have fun because it’s not my style.  BUT, every year I have a blast – me and my sister.  I’m always so proud of my father – proud to be his daughter.  He’s pretty charismatic my ol’ Dad.  I like to think I might get a little of that from him.

I was going to try to insert a video but, it’s not working.

Well, today’s my only day off this week and I have a few things I really should get done.  I was trying to avoid doing laundry because we have the new fee schedule from Hydro One and it’s totally more expensive to use power between 7am and 9pm.  I’ve been trying to do my laundry at night but it’s tough when you go to bed at 9:30.  Oh well.  C’est la vie.

In the meantime, my kitchen table in covered in wool and I made soap I need to cut up.

It’s white outside!
