First of all, Jacob’s home so I feel better now.  Nothing nasty happened to him.  He had a wonderful time and didn’t take enough pictures for me to really get a good grasp of what they did.  When Jacob landed, my sister picked him up.  They spent a few days in Las Vegas because it was raining/snowing in the mountains.  Poor kid!  He got to spend 3 days in Vegas… Then they climbed and had a blast I’m sure.

It’s great to have him home – he definitely provides entertainment.

Now, let me revisit my 2010 list of things I wanted to do.

  1. knit more (that’s definitely the first thing)
  2. work on my knitting accreditation
  3. learn to spin
  4. learn to weave
  5. perhaps work on my photography course (I started it years ago and didn’t finish because I didn’t have time to do the assignments)
  6. teach some knitting classes
  7. spend time at home (which I hadn’t done much since I bought it)
  8. go cross-country skiing
  9. go snow-shoeing
  10. go shopping out of town in the middle of the week
  11. buy a really nice new pair of jeans
  12. paint my upstairs bathroom
  13. write knitting articles
  14. write knitting patterns
  15. Go to Le Nordic with my sister on a weekday
  16. SPEND MORE TIME WITH THE PEOPLE I LOVE!

7/16 – I guess that’s better than nothing.  Some of my goals were big and required commitment.

In my defense:

  1. I didn’t learn to weave because I wanted to work on the spinning part first.  Maybe in 2011.
  2. I may not have taught knitting classes but I taught two girls I work with to knit.  One started with socks and the other with the Wurm hat.
  3. My sister and I planned a trip to Le Nordic about 3 times but something always came up.
  4. I started planning my next knitting article but never put it on paper.
  5. I don’t own cross-country skis.
  6. I would have gone snow-shoeing (’cause I own two pair) but I’m afraid of the coyotes that live in the woods behind my house.

I have no excuses:

  1. I didn’t paint my bathroom because I want to change all the tiles and I don’t want to spend the money.  I could have still painted.
  2. I got lazy where the knitting accreditation was concerned.  I had a lot of knitting to do.
  3. I lost interest in the photography thing.  I still love taking pictures but would rather go out and take them than study about how to take them.

2011 is going to be a great year!  Why?  I have no idea.  I just feel good about it.

When I picked up Jacob at the airport last night, he asked me what my New Year’s resolution was.  I was and still am totally stumped.  I have no idea!  Do I have to decide now?

I need to think.

I knit a lot but have no pics.  I’ll take some – of my knitted things and of my new wheel.  Stay tuned…
